About Nysics WebOS

So, we haven’t really talked about this. Nysics WebOS is exactly what it’s name says it is. It’s a web Operating System. It’s an Operating System in the Internet, it’s a… You get the point.

So, what exactly does it do? It can do something very complex, like editing 1080p video, to doing something very simple, like looking at pictures, on any hardware. That means your Netbook could be a movie-making, document-creating, whatever-a-very-powerful-computer-can-do kind of a machine. Basically, it runs a full-featured OS in your browser. We’re working to make it work on the up-coming Chrome OS, so that your computer is still a browser, but can do so much more.

How does it work? It uses the standard Microsoft Remote Desktop protocol, which works on pretty much everything.

Where can you access it? We’re working to make it work everywhere, and so far, we’re doing well. It literally works everywhere on almost anything, including devices that run Windows, Mac, Linux, iPhone, Windows Phone, and Android, with more to come. So that means, your PHONE could do everything an expensive computer could do (but we do recommend using WebOS on a desktop computer. Try editing video on a small screen).

How much storage do you get? We’re still thinking about it, but we’ve decided(at least for now) to give you guys around 3GB’s of RAM, and around 200GB’s of Hard Drive space. Not too bad, I guess.

Does all of that sound good? It gets better. It’s all free. But you can help by giving us donations… once we’ve set them up.

So there’s a little run down on WebOS. It should be coming soon, but no promises on when. We’re almost ready for a private beta, so if you want to use it sooner than everyone else, go here and join the beta group.
